About The Position

The Rehabilitation Aide provides non-skilled assistance in patient care under the direction of licensed physical, occupational, speech, or recreational therapists. The role supports therapy services by maintaining clean and orderly treatment areas and equipment, assisting with patient treatment as directed, and completing clerical and operational tasks. The position is at West Chester Hospital in Rehabilitation Services, Acute Care, on the first shift.

Requirements

High school education.
CPR certification.
Customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

Provide non-skilled assistance in patient care under the direction of licensed therapists.
Remove malfunctioning or defective equipment from treatment areas and label it to prevent use in patient care.
Perform general wheelchair maintenance and report needs for parts, repair, or replacement to a supervisor.
Maintain an inventory of assistive devices and report equipment needs to a supervisor or manager.
Assist with patient treatment as directed, including wheelchair follow, gait, and transfers.
Maintain cleanliness and the appearance of department areas by removing clutter and returning equipment to proper storage.
Help maintain adequate supplies and complete other assigned duties to support department operations.
Be available and punctual as scheduled, follow meal-period and break policies, respond flexibly to workload demands, and help team members when possible.
Follow licensed therapists’ directions and collaborate with leadership to complete clinical and clerical tasks.
Photocopy and organize departmental forms and patient education and exercise forms.
