About The Position

The Rehab Technician provides direct and indirect patient care to multiple patients under the direct, on-site supervision of professional staff. The technician serves as a liaison between patients and families and medical and hospital personnel, and assists with administrative responsibilities and department upkeep. This is a PRN, on-call role covering vacations and call-offs, Monday through Friday, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. The position is onsite at the UA Fieldhouse in Akron, Ohio, with possible travel to nearby Sports Rehab Clinics.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong customer service skills.
Experience working with all levels within an organization.
Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word) or similar software.
BLS certification required within the first 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a rehabilitation setting working with children who are medically fragile or have disabilities.
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform patient registration tasks, including scheduling, answering phones, checking patients in and out, and collecting co-pays.
Maintain the department, including preparing treatment areas and submitting work orders.
Maintain, assemble, and disassemble equipment.
Track inventory and stock supplies.
Record therapy sessions on video.
Transport patients to and from therapy sessions.
Provide direct and indirect patient care under therapist supervision, including casting, transfers, toileting, dressing, bathing, positioning, gait training, and assistance with groups.
Coordinate care among disciplines, providers, and families.
Demonstrate the knowledge and skills needed to address the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of patients of all ages.
Perform other duties as required.
