About The Position

Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a full-time Rehab Technician. The position assists in preparing patients for treatment under the supervision of Physical and Occupational Therapists or Assistants, Speech Pathologists and Audiologists, and other clinic staff. The technician performs routine tasks and assists therapists during patient treatment activities as directed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with 2–3 weekend shifts and a weekday off to compensate for each weekend shift, approximately every 6–8 weeks.

Requirements

Less than one year of applicable experience.
Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing patients for treatment under the supervision of therapists, assistants, speech pathologists, audiologists, and other clinic staff.
Perform routine tasks and assist therapists during patient treatment activities as directed.
Participate in lifting, transferring, and ambulating patients and/or equipment.
Participate in activities of daily living, specifically dressing and grooming, as assigned by clinical staff.
Assist with supervised feeding programs.
Use professional judgment to ensure the safety of self, patients, and others.
Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department.
Perform environmental cleaning.
Take inventory, order, and stock supplies.
Issue durable medical equipment under the direction of the therapist.
Set up and clean treatment areas, including preparing appropriate equipment and supplies.
May mentor or train new technician staff members.
Perform other duties as requested by the manager.
May perform clerical work and use computer skills.
Take patient blood pressure readings during treatment under the guidance of clinical staff.
