About The Position
A per-diem Rehab Tech position at a sub-acute/skilled nursing facility in Machias, Maine. The Rehab Tech assists rehabilitation staff with patient-related activities in accordance with state licensure and Practice Act requirements, and performs technical and light administrative duties for the Rehabilitation Department. The role supports patient care, department operations, documentation, and a safe, positive environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or Graduate Equivalency Degree.
- Concise oral and written communication skills with rehabilitation staff, facility staff, patients, and families.
- Regular attendance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with treatment activities assigned by the treating therapist.
- Transport patients to and from the rehabilitation department for scheduled treatment and assist with transfers.
- Prepare patients for therapy as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Help modify patient equipment, including wheelchairs and splints, as necessary.
- Immediately report patient responses to treatment and changes in medical status to the supervising therapist.
- Assist with computer data entry and generate reports as requested.
- Complete timely and accurate documentation of direct and indirect time, payroll, efficiency, and clinical reporting.
- Follow HIPAA confidentiality standards and infection control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing.
- Perform clerical duties, including answering calls, photocopying, filing, faxing, scanning or uploading documents, and ordering supplies.
- Maintain the rehabilitation area and equipment in a neat, clean, and safe manner.
- Attend in-services and facility meetings as required.
- Work cooperatively in group situations, demonstrate flexibility and team building, and promote a positive work environment.
- Apply a customer service philosophy to promote value and customer loyalty.
- Report to work on time and adhere to the schedule.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
