About The Position

This entry-level role will maintain raw material documentation and the raw material data in internal databases, along with learning and applying key concepts in the regulatory space. The role will gain experience in evaluating raw materials against FDA and other regulatory agency framework along with ADM’s requirements. The role involves regular verbal and electronic communication with R&D, logistics, sales, vendors and customers to support the growth and productivity of the business.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Food Science or other related field; and/or equivalent qualifications through STEM Associates degree and job experience
  • 0-2 years of regulatory experience, preferably in food/beverage, flavor or related industries
  • Strong, independent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong computer skills: proficient in MS Office packages; trainable in other software programs (SAP, Sphera IA, Genesis, Open Text)
  • Proven interpersonal skills including ability to work well in a team environment, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills
  • English required

  • Food and flavor labeling (including nutritional labeling, GMO/BE, etc.) and knowledge of GHS and HAZMAT classification for Transportation.
  • Basic knowledge of US food regulations that apply to ADM product portfolio and capable of interpretation of relevant regulations and certification schemes (Kosher, Halal, Organic, NGPV, etc.)
  • Ability to focus on priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Communications with vendors for new or existing raw material data and documents for short and long term projects
  • Data maintenance including interpretation of vendor documents, and creation and maintenance of technical regulatory data in the company databases for ingredients.
  • Regulatory evaluation of the company’s ingredients for the intended industry (e.g. food, beverage, animal feed, dietary supplements)
  • Evaluate data changes and works cross-functionally with business partners on path forward
  • Coordinates across functions and is responsible for the creation, issuance and updating of product documentation, which includes specifications, ingredient and allergen statements, nutritional information, GMO-status reviews, organic compliance, Kosher, Halal, country compliance, country of origin, SDS and other Regulatory documentation provided to customers and technical personnel as needed.
  • Perform other duties and special assignments as required
