About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in French as a Second Language (FLS) at the Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) for the FLS3773 course, 'Le mot juste en FLS', during the Fall 2026 semester. The course focuses on an exploratory study of vocabulary, including its origins, formation, and relationships between words. It involves analyzing rules for oral and written usage, creating semantic and lexical fields through exploratory tasks, and utilizing authentic language samples and lexical resources. The course is taught in French and is scheduled for Mondays from 11:30 to 13:00 and Thursdays from 13:00 to 14:30, with an expected enrollment of 30 students.

Requirements

Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching French as a Second Language courses.
Knowledge of French as a Second Language vocabulary pedagogy demonstrated by the CV.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the diploma requirement.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
