About The Position

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at the Faculty of Arts is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the course FLS1511, Section A00, 'Communication orale et écrite en français - Débutant I', during the Fall 2026 semester. This course focuses on developing oral and written comprehension through selected documents, elementary oral production techniques, simple exchanges, an introduction to written sentences, and relevant linguistic code elements, with an emphasis on individual practice. The position is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.

Requirements

• Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
• Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
• Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the degree requirement.
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop oral and written comprehension skills.
• Teach elementary oral production techniques.
• Facilitate practice of simple exchanges.
• Introduce basic written sentence structure.
• Instruct on relevant linguistic code elements.
