About The Position

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach FLS1511, Section B00: Communication orale et écrite en français - Débutant I. This course focuses on developing oral and written comprehension through selected documents, elementary oral production techniques, simple exchanges, an introduction to written sentences, relevant linguistic code elements, and individual practice. The course is taught in French and is an in-person class.

Requirements

• Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
• Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
• Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.
• An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
