About The Position

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Fall 2026 semester to teach FLS2500, Section A00, titled 'Apprendre à apprendre'. This course focuses on developing effective and autonomous second language learning strategies, optimizing the use of learner resources, and planning a major French as a Second Language (FLS) portfolio. The course is taught in French and is a 3-credit course with an expected enrollment of 30 students. The class schedule is Tuesdays from 14:30 to 16:00 and Fridays from 16:00 to 17:30, with in-person instruction.

Requirements

• Master's degree in French as a Second Language Didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language
• Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent
• Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching French as a Second Language courses
• Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies
• Familiarity with the language portfolio, as demonstrated by the CV
• All qualified persons are invited to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.

• Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.
