About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the Compréhension de l'oral en français langue seconde : niveau avancé I (FLS2731, Section A00) course during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI). The course focuses on intensive practice of oral comprehension and language level awareness, utilizing extensive audio documents and laboratory work. The course is hybrid and will be taught in French.

Requirements

Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
Two years of experience teaching French as a Second Language at the university level, or equivalent.
Familiarity with software and technology relevant to teaching French as a Second Language courses.
Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the educational requirement.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach Compréhension de l'oral en français langue seconde : niveau avancé I (FLS2731, Section A00).
Conduct intensive practice of oral comprehension and language level awareness.
Utilize extensive audio documents and laboratory work.
Teach in a hybrid format.
Instruct in French.
