About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Technical Report Writing (ENG1112, Section I00) during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Main Campus. The course focuses on the writing of technical reports, including exposition, argumentation, presentation of technical data, and effective communication, with frequent written exercises and development of composition skills. Use of Writing Centre resources outside regular class hours is required. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The provided rates are subject to change upon ratification of a new collective agreement, with retroactivity applied after ratification.

Requirements

Ph.D. (English)
Competence in English (language of instruction)
Completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Must apply using worker profile in Workday if currently an active employee of the University of Ottawa.

Nice To Haves

Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities
