About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in Technical Report Writing (ENG1112 H00) for the Fall 2026 semester within the Department of English at the University of Ottawa. The course focuses on the writing of technical reports, including exposition, argumentation, presentation of technical data, and effective communication, with frequent written exercises and development of composition skills. Use of Writing Centre resources is required outside regular class hours. Requirements

Ph.D. (English)
Acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as equivalent to the educational requirement and/or demonstrated experience.
Successfully complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Ability to apply using a worker profile in Workday if currently an active employee of the University of Ottawa.

Responsibilities

Teach Technical Report Writing (ENG1112 H00).
Practice the writing of technical reports, including exposition, argumentation, presentation of technical data, and effective communication.
Assign and evaluate frequent written exercises.
Develop students' composition skills.
Require students to use Writing Centre resources outside regular class hours.
