About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position in Technical Report Writing (ENG1112 B00) for the Fall 2026 semester within the Department of English at the University of Ottawa. The course focuses on the writing of technical reports, including exposition, argumentation, presentation of technical data, and effective communication, with frequent written exercises and development of composition skills. Use of Writing Centre resources is required outside regular class hours. Requirements

Ph.D. (English)
Competence in English (language of instruction).

Research expertise and publications in this area strongly preferred.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

Teach Technical Report Writing (ENG1112 B00).
Practice the writing of technical reports, including exposition, argumentation, presentation of technical data, and effective communication.
Assign and evaluate frequent written exercises.
Develop students' composition skills.
Require the use of Writing Centre resources outside regular class hours.
