About The Position
CHM 4139 Enzyme Chemistry and Biocatalysis (3 units) is an introduction to chemical processes and catalysis as performed by enzymes, with emphasis on applications in medicinal chemistry and in the development of environmentally sustainable technologies. Topics include enzyme structure, general mechanisms of biocatalysis, enzyme kinetics, enzyme mechanism elucidation, biocatalytic processes in industry and biocatalyst engineering. The candidate must be available for the final exam.
Requirements
- CHM 4139 Enzyme Chemistry and Biocatalysis (3 units)
- An introduction to chemical processes and catalysis as performed by enzymes, with emphasis on applications in medicinal chemistry and in the development of environmentally sustainable technologies.
- Topics include enzyme structure, general mechanisms of biocatalysis, enzyme kinetics, enzyme mechanism elucidation, biocatalytic processes in industry and biocatalyst engineering.
- Candidate must be available for final exam.
- An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
- Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
