About The Position

The Faculty of Law, Civil Law Section, is seeking to recruit part-time professors who are distinguished by their expertise and play a leading role in the legal profession. This position is for the CANADIAN FEDERALISM LAW course (DCC3104) during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course covers the history of Canadian federalism, basic rules regarding the division of legislative authority, and an overview of language rights and the rights of Indigenous peoples. The course is scheduled for Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00 and has an expected enrollment of 75 students. The instruction language is English.

Requirements

  • Hold an LL.L. or LL.B. (or equivalent).
  • Be a member in good standing of the Barreau du Québec, the bar of another province, or the Chambre des notaires du Québec.
  • Have significant and relevant experience in the field concerned by this course and/or hold a graduate degree in this field and/or have contributed to research through academic publications demonstrating recognized expertise in this field.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Nice To Haves

  • University teaching experience in a law faculty is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the CANADIAN FEDERALISM LAW course (DCC3104).
  • Provide instruction in English.
