About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position to teach PSY3105 C00 - The Psychology of Adolescence during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology. The course covers the physical, emotional, social, moral, and intellectual development of adolescents, including issues related to personal, social, and sexual maturity, and current research in the field. The course component is a lecture, and it is offered in English with passive competence in a second language. The course is delivered in person on Tuesdays from 13:00 to 14:30 and Thursdays from 11:30 to 13:00. The expected enrollment is 147 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology
Advanced knowledge of the course content area (The Psychology of Adolescence)
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Ability to apply using a worker profile in Workday if currently an active employee of the University of Ottawa.

Nice To Haves

An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
Competence in a second language (passive).

Responsibilities

Teach PSY3105 C00 - The Psychology of Adolescence.
Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).
Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be canceled.
Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor if aware in advance of an upcoming absence.
