About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Introduction to Political Science (POL1101, Section C00) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course offers a comparative study of ideas, concepts, and issues that lead to an understanding of political phenomena and their impact on individuals and societies. It includes reflection on power, citizenship, and political participation, as well as an introduction to research tasks such as bibliographic research and report writing. The course is scheduled to be delivered online in a synchronous format with live instruction. The University provides training for online course delivery, and the teaching method may be adjusted due to public health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of Political Science.
  • Teaching experience in the field.
  • Competence in a second language (active).
  • Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.
