About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Psychology at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach PSY2301: Biological Foundations of Behaviour during the Fall 2026 semester. This course covers the fundamentals of genetics and cytology, elements of neurophysiology and physiological methods, evolutionary development and organization of the mammalian nervous system, basic neuroanatomy, and neurochemical aspects of behaviour. The course is offered in person and is scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays from 17:30 to 19:00. Requirements

Ph.D. in Psychology with a thesis in Neuroscience.
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
Ability to maintain the original assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).

Responsibilities

Teach PSY2301: Biological Foundations of Behaviour.
Maintain the originally assigned mode of course delivery (in-person or virtual).
Inform the School of Psychology Secretariat promptly if a class needs to be cancelled.
Arrange for a suitable replacement instructor in advance of any known absence.
