About The Position

The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach FLS2511, Section A00, 'Apprendre à apprendre' during the Fall 2026 semester. This course focuses on revising and expanding oral and written comprehension strategies, practicing oral expression through free conversations and short presentations, and written expression focusing on simple sentences and paragraphs. It also involves systematizing linguistic code knowledge and individual practice. The course is taught in French and is scheduled for Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:30 and Fridays from 14:30 to 16:00, with in-person classes.

Requirements

• Master's degree in French as a Second Language didactics or a relevant field for teaching French as a Second Language.
• Two years of experience teaching FLS at the university level, or equivalent.
• Familiarity with relevant software and technology for teaching French as a Second Language courses.
• Any professor who taught an FLS/ESL course at OLBI before January 1, 2018, is considered to meet the degree requirement.
