About The Position
The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for SYS5180: Systems Integration during the 2027 Winter Semester. This role involves developing and delivering engaging lectures on mathematical concepts for AI, creating comprehensive course materials, designing assignments and projects, conducting assessments, and providing feedback to students. The professor will also hold office hours, collaborate with faculty on curriculum alignment, incorporate innovative teaching methodologies, and utilize Brightspace for course administration. The position is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field with a strong focus on AI and machine learning
- Demonstrated expertise in the mathematical foundations of AI and machine learning
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience at the graduate level
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex mathematical concepts clearly
- Proficiency in using mathematical and AI software packages (e.g., MATLAB, Python with NumPy/SciPy)
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and diverse learning environment

Responsibilities
