About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course TSO 35553, Travail social auprès des populations autochtones, during the Fall 2026 semester at the University of Ottawa's Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Social Work. The course explores and critically analyzes policies and intervention practices affecting Indigenous peoples, and examines responses to the situation of Indigenous individuals through self-determination movements and community-developed intervention methods. The course is offered in person and in co-teaching, with a significant portion of the student's final grade attributed to experiential learning activities, as it is part of the intensive experiential learning program (RAEA).

Requirements

Master's or doctorate in social work or a related discipline, or a university degree in social work or a related discipline combined with relevant experience and knowledge for the course.
Knowledge of intervention processes with Indigenous communities.
Excellent knowledge of the realities of Indigenous environments, as well as policies and programs intended for them.
Ability to implement a pedagogy focused on experiential learning.
Competence in French (language of instruction).

Nice To Haves

Teaching or training experience.
Experience in intensive experiential learning programs (RAEA).
