This course explores sacred medicinal plants within shamanic and ceremonial traditions worldwide. It draws on Indigenous knowledge, ethnography, and comparative religious studies to examine how medicinal plants serve as sources of healing, revelation, and community identity. Students will analyze mythical narratives, ritual authority, symbolic frameworks, and relationships with teacher plants, with a particular focus on decolonization issues, the globalization of ceremonies, and the ethical responsibilities inherent in these practices. The course will be offered via web conference.
