About The Position

This course aims to study the links between the past and present of the cultural history of German-speaking countries, through important places of memory such as the history of Siegfried and the Nibelungen, the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm, the theme of Faust, the Holocaust monument, the Alps, the Rhine and the Danube, the metropolitan centers of Berlin, Vienna and Zurich, among other themes. This is a lecture-based course. No knowledge of the German language is required. This posting is limited to Regular Part-Time Professors.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in German or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of German culture and history.
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written French.
  • Experience teaching German culture and history in French.

  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course ALG1500 Section A: Carte routière à la culture des pays de langue allemande.
  • Deliver the course via web conference.
  • Engage with students in a lecture-based format.
