About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach POL3162 - Political Violence during the Fall 2026 semester. The course will be offered online in a scheduled, synchronous format with live instruction. The University provides training for online course delivery. The teaching method may be adjusted due to public health measures or other reasons. Requirements

Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of Political Violence.
Teaching experience in the field.
Competence in a second language (active).
Successful completion of all mandatory legislated training.

Responsibilities

Teach the course "Political Violence" (POL3162, Section A00) in a synchronous online format.
Deliver live instruction on Fridays from 14:30 to 17:30.
Potentially modify teaching methods due to public health measures or other reasons.
Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
