About The Position

The goal of this course is to develop an understanding of quantitative research designs and methods used for the development and assessment of public policy. Methods covered may include simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, GIS mapping and factor analysis. Students will learn how to interpret and assess quantitative research that uses these basic econometric techniques. They will conduct a quantitative analysis in an area of their choice as part of the work. In doing so they will learn how to accurately and describe statistical information in ways appropriate for public policy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D.
  • Demonstrated expertise in simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, GIS mapping and factor analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach the application of these tools and other statistical methods for public policy practitioners.

Responsibilities

  • Teach quantitative research methods for public policy development and assessment.
  • Cover methods including simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, GIS mapping, and factor analysis.
  • Teach students how to interpret and assess quantitative research using basic econometric techniques.
  • Guide students in conducting a quantitative analysis in an area of their choice.
  • Instruct students on how to accurately describe statistical information for public policy contexts.
