The goal of this course is to develop an understanding of quantitative research designs and methods used for the development and assessment of public policy. Methods covered may include simple and multiple regression, logistic regression, GIS mapping and factor analysis. Students will learn how to interpret and assess quantitative research that uses these basic econometric techniques. They will conduct a quantitative analysis in an area of their choice as part of the work. In doing so they will learn how to accurately and describe statistical information in ways appropriate for public policy.
