About The Position
The Faculty of Arts, Department of Modern Languages and Literatures is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Elementary Russian I (RUS1901, Section B) during the Fall 2026 semester. This course is designed for students with little or no prior knowledge of Russian and covers the alphabet, phonetics, basic vocabulary, fundamental grammar rules, conversation, and laboratory work. The course will be offered in person.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Russian or equivalent.
- Russian-speaking or near-native linguistic competence in Russian.
- Experience in teaching Russian at the beginner levels in a university setting.
- Experience in creating and managing virtual content and applications related to virtual teaching.
- Experience with Brightspace.
- Bilingual proficiency in French and English.
Responsibilities
- Teach Elementary Russian I (RUS1901, Section B).
- Cover alphabet and phonetics.
- Teach basic vocabulary.
- Instruct fundamental rules of grammar.
- Conduct conversation practice.
- Oversee laboratory work.
- Create and manage virtual content and applications related to virtual teaching.
- Utilize Brightspace for course management.
