About The Position

This position is for a Part-Time Professor teaching the course Thémes choisis en sciences de l'information: Bibliothèques universitaires (ISI6700 Section A00) during the Fall 2026 academic period. The course focuses on specific topics in information science not covered in other program courses, with the Fall 2026 theme being University Libraries in Canadian higher education institutions. Topics include strategic issues and trends, scholarly communication, publication, funding, and access models, evolving technologies, user populations, information-seeking behaviors, the impact of digital resources, and the evolving role of the university librarian. This course can be repeated with different topics.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or Master's degree in Information Science or Library Science from an ALA-accredited institution.
  • Work experience in the field of university libraries.
  • Research publications in the field of university libraries.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course Thémes choisis en sciences de l'information: Bibliothèques universitaires (ISI6700 Section A00).
  • Cover topics related to university libraries in Canadian higher education institutions, including strategic issues, scholarly communication, publication, funding, access models, and technology evolution.
  • Address user populations, their needs, and information-seeking behaviors.
  • Discuss the impact of digital resources on collections, access, services, and teaching.
