About The Position

This posting is for a Regular Part-Time Professor position for the course ENV5501-A00, L'Anthropocène, during the Fall 2026 semester. The course explores the proposed geological epoch of the Anthropocene, characterized by unprecedented human impacts on Earth's natural environments. It examines societal challenges such as climate change, biodiversity loss, and pandemics, which are expected to intensify with population and living standard growth. The course utilizes environmental and geographical thinking to review the multidimensional issues faced by individuals living in the Anthropocene.

Requirements

  • Doctorat en géographie, en études environnementales ou dans une discipline connexe.
  • Proven work on the Anthropocene.
  • Experience with real-world issues and political challenges.
  • Experience applying knowledge.
  • Demonstrated ability to explain current geographical knowledge to advanced students from different disciplines.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course L'Anthropocène (ENV5501 Section A00).
  • Explain current geographical knowledge to advanced students from various disciplines.
  • Address real-world issues and political challenges related to the Anthropocene.
