About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach the course FUND. OF CYBERSECURITY (MIA5310) in the School of Engineering Design and Teaching Innovation. This is an online course scheduled for Thursdays from 19:00 to 22:00 during the 2026 Fall Semester. The expected enrollment is 30 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The hourly rate for teaching is $239.47 (2024-2025), which does not include vacation or statutory pay and will be applied until a new collective agreement is ratified, with retroactivity paid after ratification. The academic year runs from September 1 to August 31. The University of Ottawa is committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating a barrier-free work environment. Requirements

Ph.D. in Computer Science, Digital Transformation and Innovation, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity threats, security policies and governance, encryption methods, user authentication and authorization, and the protection of networks, operating systems, applications, and databases.
Experience with network security tools.
An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Experience teaching related courses at the undergraduate or graduate level.
Strong academic background with published research in reputable peer-reviewed journals or conferences in the field of cybersecurity.
