About The Position
The University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor for the Quantitative Methods course (CMN3102-E00) during the Winter 2027 semester. This course is part of the Department of Communication within the Faculty of Arts. The course will survey and apply major quantitative concepts and techniques relevant to communication studies research, including computer analysis of data, descriptive and inferential statistics, measurement, and questionnaire design. Students will administer a survey to statistically test hypotheses. The course will be offered in person.
Requirements
- Ph.D. or M.A. in Communication (preferably) or related discipline.
- Excellent knowledge of quantitative research methods in the field of communication studies.
- Knowledge or expertise in the use of quantitative data analysis software.
Responsibilities
- Survey and application of major quantitative concepts and techniques in the context of research questions and problems relating to communication studies.
- Computer analysis of data.
- Review of descriptive and inferential statistics, measurement, questionnaire design.
- Administering a survey to statistically test hypotheses.
