About The Position

Research related to the theory and practice of second language learning theories for teaching listening and reading. Design of second language programs, materials and activities related to listening and reading development and adapted to different proficiency levels and clienteles.

Requirements

  • Hold a graduate degree (preferably a doctorate) in applied linguistics, second language education, or a related field.
  • Have a strong teaching and research profile linked to the area of second language acquisition and teaching.
  • Have expertise and experience in assessment in the context of second language.
  • Have demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the university level as evidenced by recent course evaluations or equivalent.
  • Employees are required under provincial law to successfully complete all mandatory legislated training.
  • All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadians and permanent residents will be given priority.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in training (future) second language teachers will be an asset.
