This course is an introduction to comparative common law and civil law institutions, their historical sources, theoretical perspectives, and respective methodologies. The course will also cover other legal systems such as Muslim law. The Common Law Section is seeking candidates who are leaders in the legal profession. A Law degree (LL.B., J.D. or equivalent) is required for this position. Membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario (or equivalent) is also required. Prior teaching experience will be considered an asset. The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements when selecting such a candidate would be beneficial to the program, the course, the students, or for any other related reason. This course is co-taught.
