About The Position

This position is for a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach the course GNG5130: Business Communication and Influence during the 2027 Winter Semester. The course focuses on the foundations of communication and influence in the business world, with an emphasis on professional communication between engineers and customers. Topics include eliciting complex needs, developing cost justifications, understanding customer motivations, effective questioning and listening techniques, managing financial discussions, and presenting compelling proposals for engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • Strong background and demonstrable, extensive experience in engineering, product management, engineering sales, product marketing, and/or product development.
  • Knowledge and experience with a wide range of products, systems, technologies and end markets.
  • Background in one of the disciplines of engineering.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Candidates must have a background in engineering.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous teaching experience is an asset.
  • MBA preferred.
