About The Position

The Faculty of Social Sciences, School of Political Studies at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach POL4127 - United States Foreign Policy during the 2026 Fall Semester. This course offers a critical study of historical and contemporary U.S. foreign policy, examining the roles of culture, ideologies, political practices, and institutions. It draws from diverse analytic traditions to explore key issues shaping U.S. nation building and political development, including immigration, technologies, national security, racial relations, military activities, intellectual traditions, popular culture, and gender relations. The course will be delivered in English and is expected to have an enrolment of 40 students. The teaching method may be modified due to public health measures or other reasons. Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Ph.D. coursework in the field of United States Foreign Policy.
  • Teaching experience in the field of United States Foreign Policy.
  • Competence in a second language (active).
