About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Engineering Law (GNG4170, Section A) during the 2027 Winter Semester. This course covers the basic features of laws and practices related to contracts, agency, property, water rights, business organizations, sales, insurance, utilities, labor, government regulation of business, negotiable instruments, workers' compensation, liens, bankruptcy, patents, copyrights, and trademarks. It also emphasizes ethical responsibilities, professional registration, and contract documents used in construction work. The expected enrollment is 60 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The language of instruction is English, with a requirement for competence in a second language. The course schedule is Tuesdays from 19:00 to 22:00.

Requirements

  • Experience and/or specialization in the field of the course and material to teach
  • Mandatory Law degree/license
  • Competence in second language
