About The Position

The Faculty of Engineering at the University of Ottawa is seeking a Regular Part-Time Professor to teach Engineering Law (GNG4170, Section B) during the Winter 2027 semester. This course covers the basic features of laws and practices related to contracts, agency, property, water rights, forms of business organizations, sales, insurance, utilities, labor, government regulation of business, negotiable instruments, workers' compensation, liens, bankruptcy, patents, copyrights, and trademarks. It also emphasizes ethical responsibilities, professional registration, and contract documents used in construction work. The expected enrollment is 60 students, and the course is worth 3 credits. The instruction language is English.

Requirements

  • Experience and/or specialization in the field of the course and material to teach.
  • P.Eng or EIT an asset.
  • Mandatory Law degree/license.
  • An acceptable level of education and/or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.
  • Competence in a second language (French).
