About The Position

This course will cover the physical and chemical formation processes of the diverse planetary materials that make up the Solar System, from dust to planetary scales. We will explore the broad types of planetary materials that make up our Solar System - from primitive chondrites, to differentiated meteorites from asteroids and planets, such as Vesta and Mars. Space exploration is a key theme, and current and past missions are embedded into each topic, to help us to understand how and why we explore the Solar System.

Requirements

  • Ph. D in Earth Sciences.
  • Teaching experience at the university level.
  • Competence in a second language (French implied by university context).
  • Ability to complete mandatory legislated training.

Nice To Haves

  • An acceptable level of education/experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and/or demonstrated experience.

Responsibilities

  • Teach the course GEO4301 Planetary Materials: Formation, Evolution and Exploration, Section A.
  • Deliver instruction in English.
  • Complete all mandatory legislated training as required by provincial law.
