About The Position

This role contributes to the overall success of Global Registrations in Canada, ensuring individual goals and initiatives are executed to support team business strategies and objectives. It also ensures all activities comply with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • University degree (Business) or College certificate.
  • 2 years minimum of work experience in the financial services industry.
  • Relevant working knowledge of Canadian and US Regulatory policies and rules.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and multi-tasking skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of National Instrument 33-103 and 33-109 and related companion Working Conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Support a customer-focused culture by providing accurate, timely guidance to employees, branches, and internal partners on registration, licensing, and regulatory process requirements.
  • Administer day-to-day securities and insurance registration activities, including licence maintenance, updates, renewals, and related regulatory submissions.
  • Support the securities renewal process for registrants, branches, and the firm across applicable provinces, territories, and U.S. jurisdictions.
  • Maintain accurate records in registration-related systems, including the National Registration Database, Active Community, Centralize, and other applicable databases.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and self-regulatory organization requirements that may impact registration processes, licensing obligations, or internal procedures.
  • Prepare reports and updates for management related to licensed personnel, regulatory correspondence, process status, and identified registration issues.
  • Escalate matters that require management review, regulatory interpretation, or additional guidance.
  • Participate in Global Registrations projects and support process improvements that strengthen accuracy, efficiency, and controls.
  • Apply the Bank’s risk appetite, risk culture, and compliance expectations in daily activities and decision-making.
  • Follow Scotiabank’s policies, procedures, Code of Conduct, Global Sales Principles, and business controls to support operational, compliance, AML/ATF, sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.
