About The Position
Piedmont Eastside is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a PRN day-shift position in Snellville, Georgia. The Respiratory Department provides quality, patient-centered care to the community, with a focus on making a positive difference in patients’ lives. The department uses respiratory-driven protocols in ICU and acute care settings. After completing competency requirements, respiratory therapists may intubate and insert arterial lines. The team provides respiratory care across adult cardiac and medical/surgical ICUs, the progressive care unit, and acute care floors. Therapists also attend deliveries and care for babies receiving respiratory care in the Level III NICU. Other services include inpatient and outpatient pulmonary function testing, inpatient EKGs, and bronchoscopy assistance. Cross-training opportunities are available in EEGs, pulmonary function testing, and NICU care. Team members may also participate in the Annual Pulmonary Conference, leadership development classes, and skills development courses. Candidates may shadow the department and facility.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Georgia licensure through the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners, required upon hire.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, required upon hire.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, required upon hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments.
- Perform general respiratory care procedures and protocols.
- Perform critical care procedures in adult care areas.
- Conduct blood gas analysis.
- Maintain and manage equipment.
- Provide patient education.
