About The Position

Piedmont Eastside is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a PRN day position in Snellville, Georgia. The Respiratory Department provides patient-centered care across adult critical care, progressive care, acute care, and neonatal settings. Respiratory therapists use respiratory-driven protocols to manage patients in ICU and acute care areas and, after completing competency, may intubate and insert arterial lines. The role may include attending deliveries and providing respiratory care to babies admitted to the level 3 NICU, performing inpatient and outpatient pulmonary function tests, and conducting inpatient EKGs. The department uses GE Carescape R860 and Servo I ventilators, Drager VN500 and high-frequency oscillatory NICU ventilators, Phillips V60, Bubble CPAP, REMstar CPAP, Smart Vest, and Airvo. Respiratory therapists also assist with bronchoscopies using Glidescope disposable bronchoscopes. Cross-training opportunities are available in EEGs, pulmonary function testing, and NICU care. The department offers opportunities to participate in an annual pulmonary conference, leadership development classes, and skills development courses. Candidates may shadow the department and facility.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Respiratory Therapy Sciences.
No prior work experience required.
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential and Georgia licensure under the Composite State Board of Medical Examiners, required upon hire.
Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification, required upon hire.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification, required upon hire.

Nice To Haves

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
