About The Position
Knoxville Center for Behavioral Medicine is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse to provide professional nursing care to adults and geriatric patients receiving inpatient behavioral health services. Care is delivered in a supportive, therapeutic environment and within the scope of the nurse’s professional license. The role includes assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, maintaining medical records, and educating patients and their families about physical and behavioral health conditions. The center is a 64-bed acute inpatient behavioral health facility focused on acute intervention and short-term stays. It serves adults and geriatric adults experiencing severe behavioral health symptoms, substance use disorders, psychiatric or emotional disorders, and cognitive illnesses, and provides a comprehensive continuum of care that includes IOP/PHP oversight and outpatient treatment. The center is a joint venture and professional partnership between National Health Corporation (NHC), Tennova Healthcare, and the University of Tennessee Medical Center. The position is offered on a dayshift schedule of 6:45 a.m.–7:15 p.m. with a $4,000 sign-on bonus, or a nightshift schedule of 6:45 p.m.–7:15 a.m. with a $6,000 sign-on bonus. Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients receiving services, within the scope of the professional nursing license.
- Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans.
- Maintain medical records.
- Educate patients and their families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
- Provide and coordinate care in a supportive and therapeutic environment.
