About The Position

Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital offer a New Graduate Nurse Residency Program to help newly graduated Registered Nurses transition from student to professional nursing practice. The program includes facilitated learning sessions, group discussions, reflective self-care sessions, and education on best practices, evidence-based care guidelines, and proactive nursing strategies. New nurses receive comprehensive orientation, beginning with classroom instruction and followed by unit-based orientation with a unit preceptor. Residency activities include additional classroom learning, simulation, virtual reality, and skill sessions led by experienced RNs and Clinical Development Specialists. Topics support professional development and are tailored to each group. The program also includes participation in a unit shared governance meeting and observational experiences, with the aim of building professional relationships and providing specialized support. Available tracks may include Acute Care (Surgical Ortho, Medical Oncology Specialty, Acute Rehab, PCU, or CVCU), Behavioral Health/Chemical Dependency, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, or Eureka Med/Surg. Track availability depends on unit needs. After application, a recruiter will contact the applicant to discuss the best fit for department interviews.
