Carle Health•Normal, IL
•$37 - $60•Onsite

About The Position

Carle BroMenn Medical Center and Carle Eureka Hospital offer a Nurse Residency Program for new graduate Registered Nurses during their first several months of practice. The program supports the transition from student to professional nursing practice through facilitated learning sessions, group discussions, and reflective self-care sessions. Its content helps new graduates apply best practices, evidence-based care guidelines, and proactive nursing strategies. Nurses receive comprehensive orientation, beginning with classroom instruction and continuing with unit-based orientation alongside a unit preceptor. During residency, new graduate nurses also receive classroom, simulation, virtual reality, and skills sessions led by experienced RNs and Clinical Development Specialists. Topics support professional career development and are tailored to the needs of each group. The program includes attendance at a unit shared governance meeting and opportunities for observational experiences, while building professional relationships and providing specialized support. Available tracks may include Acute Care (Surgical Ortho Unit, MOSU, Acute Rehab, PCU, and CVCU), Behavioral Health/Chemical Dependency, Emergency Department, Intensive Care, and Eureka Med/Surg. Track availability depends on the number of openings. A recruiter will contact applicants to discuss the best fit for department interviews.
