About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment. The nurse demonstrates competency in delivering care primarily to adult patients. This position is in the Emergency Department/Trauma unit at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is listed as an OPT position.

Requirements

Clinical competence and experience in the care and management of patient populations specific to the area of employment.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through education at an accredited School of Nursing sufficient to be eligible for Registered Nurse licensure.
Newly hired or transferred RNs without a BSN or higher nursing degree and with less than one year of RN experience must provide proof of acceptance into an accredited BSN or higher nursing degree program within 15 months of hire or transfer, and complete the program within five years of enrollment. Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or a multistate nursing license from a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
American Heart Association Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certification, or an AHA-approved equivalent, within 90 days of hire.
American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within six months of hire.
American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification and Trauma Nurse course certification within one year of hire.
