Registered Nurse (Travel) - Step Down - $1,696/wk - Lubbock, TX
About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a travel Registered Nurse to work in a step-down unit at an acute care hospital in Lubbock, Texas. This is a short four-week contract, approximately November 16 through December 13, 2026; local nurses may have the option to extend through the holidays. The hospital is a 379-bed, Level II trauma center. The assignment pays $1,696 per week and includes a housing and meals stipend of up to $1,267 per week where eligible. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Floating between units is required, with a 1:4 patient ratio. Nurses work every other weekend; there is no on-call requirement, and 48-hour workweeks are approved. The dress code is solid navy blue scrubs, and free parking is available.
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license; compact license accepted.
- At least one year of recent step-down experience.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
- Epic experience is required.
- One year of experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care in the step-down unit.
- Float between units as required.
- Work every other weekend.
