About The Position
VitalHire is hiring a travel Registered Nurse for the progressive care unit (PCU) at an acute care hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The PCU cares for patients who are all on telemetry, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3–1:4. Floating between units is required. The assignment is 13 weeks, with four openings and a start date of November 16, 2026. The schedule is three 12-hour night shifts per week, from 19:00 to 7:00. Nurses work six weekend shifts per six-week schedule. There is no on-call requirement and no block scheduling. First-time travelers are accepted. The facility is a 379-bed, Level II trauma center providing short-term acute care. The dress code is solid navy blue scrubs, and free parking is available. Weekly pay is $2,151. Eligible nurses may receive a housing and meals stipend of up to $1,267 per week, based on the GSA FY2027 maximum for the location.
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license; a compact license is accepted.
- At least one year of recent PCU or telemetry experience.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS certification.
