RN - Registered Nurse - Endoscopy - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role is based in the UAB STV East Endoscopy Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s East and follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a call rotation. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, documents and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care among disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team. Requirements
- Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at the time of hire.
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
