RN - Registered Nurse - Endoscopy - Days
About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in the UAB STV East Endoscopy Lab at UAB St. Vincent’s East, following the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patients’ conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and collaborates with the healthcare team on discharge planning. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with a call rotation. Requirements
- Hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Hold a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, with professional licensure at the time of hire.
- Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Coordinate care among disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
