About The Position

Sovah Danville is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide care in its Endoscopy unit. The unit performs procedures including esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD), colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, bronchoscopy, and GI bleed procedures. It typically operates one to two procedure rooms several days per week out of the Operating Rooms, with a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio. The role has a 6:30–7:00 AM start time and rotating call on weekends and some weekdays. Nurses must be able to arrive within 30 minutes when called.

Requirements

• Current Virginia RN license or compact-state license with Virginia endorsement.
• Associate degree in nursing.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
• American Heart Association ACLS within six months of hire.
• Must be able to meet a 30-minute call time.

Responsibilities

• Carry out plan-of-care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
• Document patient care.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family as appropriate.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
• Coordinate patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
• Assess patient and family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
• Advocate for patients’ physical and emotional well-being.
