About The Position

Geisinger Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Endoscopy Department. The nurse will join a collaborative team providing tertiary-level care in a community setting and supporting procedures such as EGD, colonoscopy, EUS, bronchoscopy, and ERCP. The role works alongside gastroenterologists, pulmonologists, nurses, technicians, and coordinators to deliver timely, patient-centered care in a clinical environment. This is a full-time position scheduled for 40 hours per week, with 8-hour shifts that rotate between 6:30 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The position participates in an on-call rotation that includes weekends and holidays, with a required 30-minute response time while on call. Weekend on-call duty is typically every three months, and holiday coverage is approximately one holiday per year. Scheduling is based on team rotation and may change. The position offers a sign-on incentive of up to $10,000 for qualified candidates. Requirements

Active Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
At least 1 year of nursing experience.
Graduate of a specialty training program in nursing.
Basic Life Support certification.
Required skills include clinical skills, communication, computer literacy, health information documentation, interpersonal communication, patient assessment and care, and teamwork.
Must meet job-specific obligations and comply with organizational policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

Experience in pre-procedural or post-procedural care is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Assist providers during GI endoscopic procedures.
Administer medications, IV therapy, and conscious sedation.
Monitor patients during and after procedures.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Educate patients and families about procedures and recovery.
Lead and support other clinic nurses and technicians.
Maintain and inspect medical equipment and supplies.
Participate in the on-call rotation, including weekend and holiday coverage.
